Journalist Penenberg to present Umbaugh Lecture April 14

Author and investigative journalist Adam Penenberg will present the Umbaugh lecture April 14 at 7:30 pm in the Donald S. Hiller Building auditorium at Penn State DuBois. Penenberg is an investigative journalist whose work has appeared in The New York Times, Forbes, Wired, [Inside], Playboy and Mother Jones. Michael Douglas, through his production company, Further Films, has agreed to produce and star in a movie based on Adam's second book, "Tragic Indifference: One Man's Battle With the Auto Industry Over the Dangers of SUVs" (HarperCollins, Nov. 2003). Former senior editor at Forbes and reporter for Forbes.com, Penenberg garnered national attention in 1998 for unmasking serial fabricator Stephen Glass of The New Republic. Penenberg's story was a watershed for online investigative journalism and is portrayed in a major motion picture entitled "Shattered Glass."
