April 12, 2004

Janice Norris has been named head librarian at Penn State DuBois. Prior to moving to the DuBois area she was employed as the geosciences librarian in the Sterling C. Evans Library at Texas A & M. "Locating information is becoming so complex nowadays with the Internet and electronic resources, that it is very important for students to come into the library to talk to us, to see what we have, learn how to manipulate on-line databases, etc.," says Norris. "I'd like to see the library be the heart of the campus for teaching and learning." She received her baccalaureate, master's and doctoral degree in geological science at the State University of New York at Buffalo. Most recently she earned a master's in library science at that same location.
