Internal search under way for assistant vice provost for Undergraduate Education

Nominations and applications are being accepted for a new position of assistant vice provost for Undergraduate Education.

The assistant vice provost reports directly to the vice provost for Undergraduate Education and International Programs and is a member of the vice provost's leadership team. This person will undertake a broad range of advisory and leadership roles requiring sound judgment, familiarity with the University's academic and administrative structures, strong communication skills and knowledge of major issues within higher education that impact undergraduate education.

The candidate should be prepared to contribute to a wide variety of projects and activities within the Office of Undergraduate Education, including research and policy analysis, strategic planning and decisions related to program implementation. Duties also will include representing Undergraduate Education on committees; organizing and leading small groups to provide feedback to the vice provost as needed; and developing and writing reports and public addresses for an array of internal and external constituencies. Other responsibilities will be assigned as appropriate.

Essential requirements include familiarity and experience with issues of undergraduate education at the local and national level; ability to work well on teams; high energy and creativity; diversity; excellent writing skills; and superb organizational and research abilities. Candidates should have an earned doctorate or master's degree with at least three years previous experience working at the University.
