School of Theatre announces 2004-05 show season

Tickets are on sale now for the six shows in the 2004-05 season of the School of Theatre's University Resident Theatre Company.

The season opens Sept. 28 with "Is There Life After High School?" In this musical, which runs through Oct. 6, alumni at their class reunion relive the sometimes painful, humorous experiences of high school.

Next up is "The Rimers of Eldritch," a drama about gossip heaven when a small town is the site of a murder that unravels with unsettling consequences. It runs Oct. 19 through 30.

"Noises Off" is a contemporary comedy that shows the puzzlement that happens when the backstage lives of the actors start to intertwine with their on-stage performance. It runs Nov. 9 through 20.

"Colored Museum" is a drama with a series of "exhibits" that examine questions of identity and culture and what it means to be black in America. It runs Feb. 1 through 19.

Then it's on to "Chicago," a song-and-dance production. It runs Feb. 15 through 26.

The season will close with the mystery of "Arcadia," where modern-day scholars attempt to unearth the affairs of their estate's past tenants. This intellectual mystery wrapped around a romance runs March 22 through April 9.

Subscribe to season tickets before Oct. 16 and receive a 10 percent discount. Single tickets go on sale Sept. 3. Tickets are available at the Eisenhower Box Office, Penn State Tickets Downtown, Bryce Jordan Center, or by calling (814) 863-0255 or (800) ARTS-TIX.
