Hammermill's flagpole goes home

The 60-foot flagpole that stood tall at the Hammermill Paper Company and later at International Paper has found a final resting place on the athletic fields at Penn State Erie. As workers were completing the demolition of the East Lake Road plant, the flagpole was transported to the College, where it was immediately installed. Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, was the home of Hammermill's founder and first president, Ernst Behrend.
