Food safety certification training coming to Schuylkill County

Effective July 1, one supervisory employee in a licensed food establishment must be certified in food safety and sanitation in order to be in compliance with the state's Department of Agriculture Food Employee Certification Act. Penn State Schuylkill Continuing Education is bringing the courses which fulfill those requirements to the area. The statewide food safety training is designed for food service managers, chefs, caterers, health officials, and inspectors. It is an outreach program of the College of Agricultural Sciences' Department of Food Science, Penn State Cooperative Extension, the Division of Continuing Education, and the Office of Statewide Programs.
