Penn State Hershey Medical Center's Graduate Student Association has announced its spring winners of the Excellence in Teaching Awards. The awards are voted on by first- and second-year graduate students at the end of fall and spring semesters. The winners for spring are:
-- Best overall instructor: Anita Hopper, professor of biochemistry;
-- Most dedicated to teaching: James Hopper, professor of biology and chemistry; Sergei Grigoryev, assistant professor of biochemistry and molecular biology; and Jong Yun, assistant professor of pharmacology;
-- Most challenging in a positive way: Michael Fried, professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology;
-- Best notes: Scot Kimball, professor of physiology; and
-- Most energetic: Mark Kester, professor of pharmacology.
