Libraries announce a series of exhibits

Exhibit celebrates Labor Day
"Paying Dues: Labor and Diversity in Black and White," an exhibit celebrating Labor Day 2004 and featuring selected images from the photographic collections of Historical Collections and Labor Archives, University Libraries, will be on display through Oct. 29 in the Pattee Library main exhibit area, University Park.

Asia focus of exhibit
"Asia in the Era of Globalization," is being exhibited through Oct. 10 in the Candace and Patrick E. Malloy III Diversity Studies Room, 109 Pattee Library, University Park.

The exhibit looks at Asia and the blurring of borders due to technology's increased speed and ease of communications, and how globalization theory helps us to understand the new boundaries. A cooperative effort of Penn State's Colloquy on Asia in the Era of Globalization and the University Libraries, the exhibit showcases some of the Libraries' collection of books and periodicals in Asian studies, including those by Penn State faculty. Library contributes to Priestley exhibit
University Libraries' Special Collections Library is a contributor to an exhibit "Joseph Priestley, Radical Thinker," which will be on display through July 29 at the Chemical Heritage Foundation in Philadelphia.

Items lent from the holdings of Rare Books and Manuscripts include Priestley's last will and testament and the manuscript of his memoirs.
