Alumni invited to join sesquicentennial celebration

University Park, Pa. -- Penn State kicked off a yearlong celebration of its 150th anniversary with a grand event in Schwab Auditorium in early July. The University -- including its many colleges, departments, and student organizations -- will be sponsoring events throughout the year to celebrate the landmark occasion. Alumni are strongly encouraged to join in the festivities.

The Sesquicentennial Games, sponsored by the Alumni Association's two student organizations—Blue & White Society and Lion Ambassadors—is one example of the many ways alumni can take part in the celebration. The Games will feature a multitude of competitive activities to unite Penn State alumni, students, and friends. Athletic events and academic endeavors, combined with community service activities, will provide diverse means of involvement. More information about the Games can be found at http://www.psu150.com.

The University's official sesquicentennial Web site, found at http://sesquicentennial.psu.edu, features a calendar of Sesquicentennial events as well as an archive of news stories related to the anniversary celebration.
