Faculty forum at Penn College Library to explore 'graphic novel' literary genre

September 24, 2004

An overview of the "graphic novel," a still-emerging genre of narrative literature, will be the subject of the fifth in a series of faculty forums at the Pennsylvania College of Technology Library on Oct. 6.

In the program, which will be offered from 3 to 4 p.m., David S. Sims, associate professor of English, will define the major characteristics of the form and then analyze sample frames by such practitioners as R. Crumb, Art Spiegelman and Chris Ware.

Light refreshments will be served at the event, which is free to faculty, staff, students and the public. Questions and comments are encouraged.

The library is located in the Learning Resources Center on Penn College's main campus in Williamsport.
