'Sweet Charity' replaces 'Chicago' in School of Theatre schedule

The Penn State School of Theatre's production of "Chicago," scheduled to play Feb. 15 to 26 at the Playhouse Theatre on the University Park campus, has been canceled, due to a national tour of "Chicago" coming to Hershey. The School of Theatre will produce the musical "Sweet Charity" in its place.

"Sweet Charity" tells the story of an optimistic young taxi dancer, Charity, who "wears her heart on her sleeve." The music is one of six shows that the School of Theatre will produce in its 2004-2005 season, which also includes "Is There Life After High School?," "The Rimers of Eldritch," "Noises Off," "The Colored Museum" and "Arcadia."

Current "Chicago" ticket-holders may exchange or obtain a refund. "Chicago" tickets will be accepted for "Sweet Charity" at the door. For information, call (814) 863-0255 or (800) ARTS-TIX. For information on the 2004-2005 season, visit http://www.theatre.psu.edu
