Gala recital will honor retiring Suzanne Roy

The Penn State School of Music will present a gala vocal recital to honor Suzanne Roy, associate professor of music, at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 21, in Esber Recital Hall, University Park. The program, which is free to the public, will highlight Roy's 26-year career at Penn State and celebrate her vocal and pedagogical legacy. She will be retiring Dec. 31. Performers will include a number of Roy's past students from the nearly three decades she has taught at Penn State. Vocal, instrumental and piano faculty from the School of Music and colleagues from the community will perform solos and chamber works that have had special meaning in Roy's musical life. Several special surprises are planned that will honor Roy and celebrate her career in teaching and music.
