Penn State Shenango will be host to pianist Paul-Andre Bempechat, professor and guest artist, under the auspices of its 2004-2005 Distinguished Lecture Series, beginning this fall through spring. During his six months as the campus' "artist-in-residence," Bempechat will present a series of lectures to Shenango campus music classes, focusing on general piano repertory sessions as well as works by specific composers, including Beethoven, Chopin and Schubert. His visit also will include several afternoon and evening concert recitals at the Penn State Theatre in downtown Sharon which will be free to the public. His final evening concert, to be held on April 29, will be the opening performance of the Penn State Arts Festival. Read the full story at http://www.shenango.psu.edu/alum_news.htm
