The Penn State community is invited and encouraged to help the Red Cross save 3,000 lives over the next three weeks.

Penn State has been a major supporter of the Red Cross through life-saving blood drives for more than two decades. One unit of whole blood has the power to save up to three lives, and the Red Cross is challenging the Penn State community to give enough blood to help save 3,000 lives in three weeks.

This year's blood drive campaign to support the Red Cross is especially important, as this year's hurricanes canceled blood drives in the areas impacted by those storms, leaving many units uncollected. In addition, blood donations decline over the holiday season, and Thanksgiving is only a few weeks away.
