Penn State DuBois offers personal enrichment technology classes

Penn State DuBois is offering four personal enrichment classes designed to help community members become better-acquainted with technology. The classes are: eBay Buying, eBay Selling, Digital Photography and Introduction to GPS. John Piccolo, director of continuing education, said, "We try to offer a variety of technology classes for the community, so there are options to appeal for everyone with diverse interests."

eBay Buying will focus on the process of purchasing items from the online global marketplace. Some of the topics to be covered include: how to search, security issues, how to bid and pay for an item. There also will be the opportunity to discover some of the "common tricks and traps." The class will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 7, in the DuBois Education Foundation (DEF) Education and Technology Center.

eBay Selling will focus on selling items through eBay. The topics will include how to get started, strategies for promoting items and collecting payment once an item is sold. The class will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 14, and Thursday, Feb. 17, in the DEF Education and Technology Center.

The Digital Photography class will include an overview of digital cameras, digital video cameras and image tools. After discussing the various cameras, students will participate in a lab session.
