United Soul Ensemble to perform gospel music at Penn State DuBois

United Soul Ensemble, a Penn State gospel choir, will perform at Penn State DuBois at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 21, in the Donald S. Hiller Building auditorium. The appearance is part of the Penn State DuBois Cultural and Performing Arts Series. The United Soul Ensemble (USE) has been an active part of the Penn State community for nearly 35 years, promoting diversity and building meaningful relationships between students and members of the community. With a multicultural membership, USE participates in diversity enhancement programs sponsored by the HUB-Robeson Center. Additionally, the ensemble collaborates with area churches, and works with university programs to edify the student body and area residents. Every semester, USE culminates its activities with a dynamic showcase of gospel culture through song and step, along with guest organizations. USE has been an integral component of helping Penn State "make life better" for the students and for the surrounding community. Three additional events round out the spring schedule for the Cultural and Performing Arts Series. Randi Driscoll, an acoustic piano player, will bring her music to the same venue on Wednesday, March 2. Speaker Steve Prescott will address his topic, "A Walk in the Appalachian Mountains," on Wednesday, March 23, again in the auditorium. Mike Lee wraps up the season with a magic show on Monday, April 4, in the Multipurpose Building gymnasium. All of the Penn State DuBois Cultural and Performing Arts Series events are free to the public. For more information, contact the student life office at (814) 375-4766.
