Carr to talk about Stravinsky, Ramuz collaboration

Maureen Carr, professor of music, will present a lecture at 2 p.m. March 19 in 115 Music Building I, University Park. Her lecture will explore the collaboration between Igor Stravinsky and Charles-Ferdinand Ramuz for "Histoire du soldat" (1918). Carr's presentation will feature highlights from her new book "Stravinsky's Histoire du soldat," video stills from performances by the Royal Danish Ballet and listening excerpts to highlight the motivic structure of the work. The Pennsylvania Centre Orchestra is cosponsoring the lecture and will perform Stravinsky's "Histoire du soldat" (1918) at 7:30 p.m. March 19 at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship. Carr will give a brief preconcert introduction preceding the performance.
