DuBois students were part of Dance Marathon

Marly Greeley of Punxsutawney and Jennifer Watkavitch of Weedville participated in the 33rd annual Dance Marathon held last month at Rec Hall on the University Park campus. The two Penn State DuBois education majors joined hundreds of other students as 48-hour dancers in what is believed to be the single largest student-run philanthropy in the world. Since 1977 Thon has raised millions of dollars for the Four Diamonds Fund, which supports childhood cancer research conducted at Penn State Hershey Medical Center. DuBois team co-chairs Aubrey Sherron of Pittsburgh and Lyssa Pollock of Winburne said nearly $4,000 was raised to support the cause just at DuBois. This year Thon set a new record by raising a total of $4,122,483 for The Four Diamonds Fund. Over the past 30 years, THON has raised more than $30 million for the organization.
