March 18, 2005

Modified Madness (M2) will kick Happy Valley into high gear from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. May 21 and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 22 as the custom auto event rolls into The Bryce Jordan Center. M2, produced by Carlisle Events, includes not just sport compacts but also customized luxury sedans, SUVs and nearly all makes and models. Elite cars, corporate displays, judged show fields, sponsor rigs, dancers, models, a beauty contest, entertainment and television stars make this a packed weekend.

West Coast Customs‚ Big Dane and Q will be special guests. The California custom auto shop was made famous by the MTV show "Pimp My Ride," in which West Coast Customs transforms people's old, beat-up cars into tricked-out rides. The show will bring as many as eight vehicles that have been modified for display, as well as merchandise for sale, and will be available on both Saturday and Sunday, May 21 and 22.

Hip-hop personality DJ Skribble, often featured on MTV, will spin and scratch for M2 attendees. Another guest at the show will be Dave "The Fishman" Rivera of Fishman Audio. Stunt riders StarBoyz will demonstrate all kinds of crazy tricks and stunts on their sport bikes.

The show also will include Meguiar's Top Flight show field, judged by NCCA, where top cars in various classes compete for prize money and trophies. This is an NCCA double-points event and is limited to the first 200 cars that register. Registration is $75, which includes admission for two people for both days. The outdoor-judged show field has classes for all types of cars, trucks and sport bikes and is limited to 1,500 cars. Price is $50 for the vehicle and two attendees. An outdoor nonjudged show field also is available for those who just want to have their vehicles on the show field but not be judged. The $40 pre-registration fee ($50 after May 2) includes admission for the vehicle and two people. To register, call (717) 243-7855 or go to http://www.modifiedmadness.com online.
