Forestry poster exhibit open in Agricultural Administration Building

The results of an innovative collaboration of forestry and art education are being displayed in a graphic art poster exhibition on forestry topics through May in the main lobby of the Agricultural Administration Building, University Park. The posters are the result of a creative undertaking between Penn State's School of Forest Resources and the department of integrative arts. Students in the junior-year, graphic-design studio class underwent an orientation and training on the critical issues facing Pennsylvania's forests.

The studio class was taught by Keith Cummings, assistant professor of graphic design, and the forestry sessions by Sanford Smith, cooperative extension specialist in natural resources and youth education. The posters will be used to educate youth across Pennsylvania through exhibitions, presentations and publications.

For more information on the reception, poster exhibition or program, call Sandy Smith at (814) 863-0401 or e-mail sss5@psu.edu.
