Penn College

Gallery to feature student ceramic work

Students taking ceramics courses at Pennsylvania College of Technology will display their work Tuesday, May 3, through Friday, May 6, in The Gallery at Penn College. Wendy L. Frew of Frackville, an independent-study ceramics student, will be showing her work, as will students from first- and second-level ceramics courses.

An opening reception for the exhibit will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, with a gallery talk at 5 p.m. Viewing hours during the rest of the week are 4 to 6 p.m., with extended hours 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 6, in conjunction with Williamsport's First Friday event.

The ceramics to be displayed were formed by pinch, slab, coil, wheel throwing and extrusion techniques. Pieces are created in stoneware, porcelain and raku clays. The students have been taught by Max E. Ameigh, instructor of advertising art at Penn College.

The Gallery at Penn College is in 202 Bush Campus Center. The exhibit is free to the public. To contact The Gallery at Penn College, call (570) 326-3761, ext. 7973 or e-mail gallery@pct.edu.
