Lehigh Valley honors several at convocation

Several awards were presented during the 19th annual Honors Convocation at Penn State Lehigh Valley.

Kevin J. Kelley, assistant professor of psychology, was awarded the 2005 Teaching Excellence Award. This award recognizes a faculty member who has been teaching at Penn State Lehigh Valley for at least two consecutive years and has shown an outstanding commitment to students. The Outstanding Research and/or Creative Accomplishment Award was conferred on Jennifer Parker Talwar, assistant professor of sociology. This honor recognizes a full-time faculty member who has shown excellence in academic research, creative activity, scholarship and mastery of a subject matter. Christina M. Weadon was presented with the Eric A. and Josephine Walker Award. The award is presented annually to one undergraduate student at each Penn State campus. It recognizes a student with outstanding qualities of character, scholarship, leadership and citizenship, who has positively affected fellow students, and who has contributed to the prestige and well-being of their campus and to the University as a whole.
