Student clinician ceremony is June 23

Penn State College of Medicine's Class of 2006, Class of 2007, Department of Humanities and Office of Medical Education, and the Arnold P. Gold Foundation announce the fourth annual Student Clinician Ceremony to be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 23, in the hospital auditorium. The ceremony provides a formal transition for second-year medical students entering their years of clinical-based learning.

The ceremony also recognizes outstanding residents with the Arnold P. Gold Foundation's Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award. Third-year medical students select six residents who exhibit strong teaching skills and are role models for compassionate and relationship-centered care. Residents to be honored are Andrea Gainey, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology; Amir Gharaei, Department of Medicine; Parag Patel, Department of Medicine; Eric Pauli, Department of Surgery; Gary Thomas, Department of Neurology; and Ali Zaidi, Department of Pediatrics.

Keystone speakers are Jeffrey J. Miller, professor of dermatology; Jed Gonzalo, Class of 2006; and Megan N. Jenkins, Class of 2007.
