Mark Schwartz has been named operations director for the Departments of Dermatology and Ophthalmology at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Penn State College of Medicine.
Schwartz returns to Penn State following several years with the Department of Care Coordination, Geisinger Health System and Geisinger Health Plan. Prior to joining Geisinger, Schwartz was employed by the College of Medicine from 1986 to 1999.
As operations director, Schwartz works with the chair, department managers and administrators of dermatology and ophthalmology to provide ongoing daily operational oversight and manages capital, material and human resources. He provides leadership for clinical, academic and research programs for the two departments.
Schwartz earned his bachelor's degree in biology at Shippensburg University in 1986. He is a 2000 graduate of Penn State, where he earned his master's in health administration.
