Upcoming Moxie-Thon race remembers Penn State student

The eighth annual Melissa Heydenreich 5k Moxie-Thon: A Race Against Leukemia is set for Sunday, Sept. 25, on Penn State's University Park campus. Sponsored by the Penn State Alumni Association, this race annually attracts several hundred runners and raises more than $5,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of America. The race is held in honor of Melissa Heydenreich, a Penn State student and Lion Ambassador who was diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia in 1996 and passed away in 1997. Registration is $16 for pre-registered runners and $18 on race day.
