Kevin Haley named chief financial officer of Medical Center

Penn State University alumnus Kevin Haley has been named chief financial officer (CFO) at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. Haley joined the Medical Center more than 20 years ago as a reimbursement analyst. Since July 2004, Haley, former director of finance for the Medical Center from 2000 through 2004, served as interim CFO.

"Mr. Haley so capably served the organization over the past year as our interim CFO, it became obvious that we had the best candidate for the permanent position already properly placed," said David S. Hefner, executive director and chief operating officer of Penn State Hershey Medical Center. "Kevin inspires trust across the many different departments and has increased our ability to manage and forecast at a whole new level."

"For more than 20 years, Kevin has been demonstrating his skills to the leadership of this organization," said Wayne W. Zolko, associate vice president of finance and business at the Medical Center, controller for the Medical Center and Penn State College of Medicine and secretary/treasurer for the Medical Center and campus CFO. "He shares our values, our history and a great respect for our missions at the Medical Center. I am very pleased to see Kevin become our permanent CFO."

Haley graduated from Penn State with a bachelor's degree in accounting. Prior to joining the Medical Center, he was a health-care auditor. At the Medical Center, Haley went on to serve as director of reimbursement and financial planning, director of reimbursement and decision support and manager of reimbursement and cost accounting. He is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
