Chorney named campus public information officer

DuBois, Pa. -- Erin Dixon Chorney of DuBois has joined the staff at Penn State DuBois as the public information officer for the campus. Chorney's responsibilities include promotion of campus news, activities and special events; and editing and production coordination for campus publications including "College Place," the "DuBois Quarterly" and the campus Web site at http://www.ds.psu.edu online.

Chorney holds a bachelor's degree in communications media and journalism, graduating summa cum laude from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1992. Before joining the campus staff, she was employed as the business development coordinator for North Central Pennsylvania Regional Planning and Development Commission in Ridgway and DuBois.

"Erin is a very talented writer and photographer who is well acquainted with our region," Chancellor Anita D. McDonald said. "We are very pleased to have her join the Penn State DuBois family."

A native of DuBois, Chorney is an active member of the DuBois Rotary, the DuBois Jaycees and DuBois Toastmasters. She also is a volunteer for Big Brothers-Big Sisters of Clearfield County and serves on the advisory board for the Main Street DuBois program.
