Summer camp planned for students interested in health careers

Penn State Mont Alto will offer an educational summer camp the week of June 19 for students in eighth through 10th grades who are interested in learning more about health careers. The program, known as Med Camp, is underwritten by The Summit Endowment. Students will have the opportunity to visit hospitals and health-care facilities and to learn about health-care careers including nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, radiology, pathology and more.

Med Camp will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, June 19, through Friday, June 23. Lunch will be provided four of the five days. The "home base" for the camp will be Penn State Mont Alto, and students will receive transportation to various hospitals and field trip locations throughout the week.

The cost for this program is $30 per student. The registration deadline is April 1, and space is limited to 28 students. Registration forms can be obtained by contacting high school guidance counselors or calling (717) 709-0778.
