Members sought for LGBT Support Network

The LGBT Support Network is looking for members. The network is ally, lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender members of the Penn State community (faculty, staff and students) that serve as a support and advocacy group for the LGBT community at all campuses. Allies provide a safe, comfortable and nondiscriminatory environment to which the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community can have access. Since the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender population at Penn State is relatively small, the work of the allies is especially important to help discourage discrimination and openly celebrate diversity. As a Support Network member, participants will display a pin, poster or sign that demonstrates their support of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community to help bring awareness of the community's issues and concerns. To join the network, visit the Web site and complete a short application at http://www.sa.psu.edu/lgbt/supportnetwork online. Participants of the LGBT Network are selected by the Commission on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Equity (CLGBTE), one of the three Presidential Commissions at Penn State, based on an application and selection process. For additional information, contact Deni Worrick at mdi1@psu.edu or Stefanie Tomlinson at skt2@psu.edu or any member of the network.
