Battlefield II, Counter-Strike and Unreal Tournament 2004 are just some of the video games showcased at a video game Local Area Network (LAN) party set for Saturday, March 25, at Penn State DuBois. The event takes place from 4 to 11 p.m. in 101 DuBois Educational Foundation Education and Technology Center. Anyone in ninth grade or older is welcome to attend. A $1 admission fee charged at the door will benefit the Penn State DuBois Information Technology (IT) Club. The event also is sponsored by the School of Information Sciences and Technology (IST), and the Tech Prep office at Penn State DuBois. Multiple Xbox games will be available for game play, with Halo2 serving as the primary game for the Xboxes. According to Jason Long, program leader of the IST program and IT Club adviser, the event grows larger each semester. This year the event will have around six Xbox game consoles providing the opportunity of networking more than 60 computers. Networking enables participants to play against each other, Long said.
