Brenizer to head ASTM committee

Jack Brenizer, professor and chair of nuclear engineering, has been named chair of Committee E07 on Nondestructive Testing for the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) International.

Brenizer has been a member of the Penn State faculty since 1999. His research focuses on radiation detection, neutron radiography and imaging, and neutron activation analysis.

He holds memberships in the American Nuclear Society, the American Society for Nondestructive Testing, the American Society for Engineering Education, the Health Physics Society, the International Society for Neutron Radiography and Sigma Xi.

Established in 1898, ASTM International is one of the largest standards development and delivery systems in the world. ASTM standards are accepted and used in research and development, product testing, quality systems and commercial transactions around the world.
