Penn State baseball team practices in new facility

While it's not yet ready for visitors to fill the stands, Medlar Field at Lubrano Park is getting closer to completion. The field itself is ready, and was the site of its first workout last night (May 17). At the end of a regularly scheduled practice at Beaver Field, baseball Coach Robbie Wine called his team out to second base to make some end-of-practice announcement. Among the announcements was that practice was not really over ... they still had some more work to do, but that they needed to change locations and head over to the new ballpark. Wine kept the Medlar Field workout a surprise until the last minute for the team, which is scheduled to play at Ohio State on Friday.
