Walking Works participants running out of time to log steps, earn credits

Penn State Hershey Medical Center records show more than 170 eligible employees still have not entered the campaign code required to log their Walking Works steps to receive credit towards their health Reimbursement Arrangements (HRA).

The Benefits Office is once again reminding employees participating in the Walking Works program that those participating in Walking Works to earn HRA credits must make sure they are logging their steps under the current campaign code(wwsp06). If an employee's steps are not logged under the current campaign, he or she will not receive any HRA credit.

Several weeks ago, the Medical Center Benefits Office asked Capital Blue Cross to re-open the registration period so these employees can enter the campaign code and ensure that the steps that they have logged will be tied to the current campaign making them eligible for HRA credit. Extended registration ends this Saturday, June 10.

To enter the campaign code, employees must do the following:

-- Log onto the tracking tool where they log their steps.

-- On the right side of the screen, look for "My Campaign."

-- Click on "Enter your code now."

-- Type wwsp06 in lower case, then click submit.

The easiest way for an employee to determine if steps are logged under the current campaign is to log onto the tracking tool and then check if each new week begins with a Saturday or a Sunday. If the week begins with a Saturday, the employee is appropriately logging steps in the current campaign and is eligible for HRA credit. If the week begins with a Sunday, the employee is not logging steps under the current campaign and must follow the short steps listed above to correct the problem.
