Family Playground returns to Jordan Center for July 4

The Bryce Jordan Center will present the 11th annual Family Playground from 3 to 9 p.m. July 4. This year's event at the center will feature never-before seen rides and games for the entire family, including Under the Sea Toddler Obstacle Course, the all new Jurassic Adventure and Laser Tag Arena.

Other activities will include Rock Mountain, the all new Tsunami Wave Surf Machine, Galaxy Mechanical Bull, two giant slides, the Adrenaline Race 84-foot Obstacle Course, Seven Elements 42-foot Obstacle Course, two moon bounces, Speed Pitch and Speed Kick, Sports Challenge Bungee, Gladiator Joust, and Penn State Inflatable Basketball Toss. Another feature for parents is the presence of the Centre County Kid ID Program, sponsored by State College Police in partnership with Centre County local law enforcement agencies and the Fraternal Order of Police.

Six new carnival games also will be featured. All rides and games will require only one ticket per activity. Tickets cost $1 each. All-access ride passes also will be available for $9.50. Admission to the Bryce Jordan Center is free.

While the playground is open, a wide variety of foods will be available at the Jordan Center, including hot dogs, cheeseburgers, hot sausage and grilled chicken sandwiches, pizza, popcorn, cotton candy, nachos, glazed roasted nuts, Spunkmeyer cookies, University Creamery ice cream and slushies.

As the night draws near, get a "front row" view of the Fourth of July fireworks. Special V.I.P. Viewing Packages are available from the Bryce Jordan Ticket Center or by phone at (814) 865-5555. There are several different package options to fit any group's needs. Packages include V.I.P. tickets and a V.I.P. parking permit.
