Computer science and engineering team wins best paper award

A team of Penn State computer science and engineering graduate students and faculty will be awarded one of two best papers at the 12th International Conference on Parallel and Distribution Systems in Minneapolis. The team won for "Multi-Level On-Chip Memory Hierarchy Design for Embedded Chip Multiprocessors" and includes Mary Jane Irwin, the A. Robert Noll chair in computer science and engineering; Mahmut Kandemir, associate professor of computer science and engineering; Ozcan Ozturk, computer science and engineering graduate student; and Suleyman Tosun, a researcher at Selcuk University in Turkey.
