University Park, Pa. -- To make way for the new Dickinson School of Law building, student Lot 83 will be relocated this fall to an area just off of Hastings Road, near Eastview Terrace, South Halls and Pollock Halls.
The new Lot 83 will have two sections: One will be located west of the Central Biology Lab, and the other will be located at the former site of Graduate Circle Apartments. The lot will be served by the Blue Loop, which offers no-fare bus service around campus. Two stops will be added to the current bus route to accommodate students parking in the new lot.
Parking During Arrival, Fall 2006
Students with permits for Lot 83 may park in the new lot immediately after unloading and moving into their residence halls. Students with permits for Lot 42 will also be able to move their cars to their assigned parking lot immediately after unloading. Students with permits for Lot 22, 81 or 82 will be directed to park in the Flower Garden Lot (old Lot 83) after unloading and may begin parking in their assigned parking lots as of 6 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 3. Long-term parking for parents and families will be available in the Stadium West Lot and Lot 44 (Jordan East) during move-in.
Students must have 28 credits completed prior to Sept. 1 in order to apply for a Penn State parking permit. Eligible students who will be living on campus may register their vehicles online at http://www.transportation.psu.edu starting at 8 a.m. on July 31. Eligible students who will be living off campus may register their vehicles online at http://www.transportation.psu.edu starting at 8 a.m. on July 10.
