Campus Life

Reminder: Obey campus speed limits, construction signs

All Penn State Hershey Medical Center and Penn State College of Medicine faculty and staff are reminded that the campus speed limit is 25 miles per hour. All must obey this speed limit when driving on campus at all times. Be aware that around construction areas, the speed limit is 15 miles per hour.

In addition to employees, patients and visitors walking around campus, remember the construction workers and families that live in on-campus housing who also are on the roadways.

Employees are urged to pay attention to construction information signs and other drivers and to follow the rules of the road. During the construction period on campus, faculty, staff, visitors and patients will be notified ahead of time, whenever possible, of road closures and detours. Make accommodations to arrive at work early when traffic or parking patterns change.

Remember the following:

-- Pay attention to pedestrians at crosswalks; if they are in the crosswalk, they have the right-of-way.

-- At intersections, come to a complete stop and allow others to take their turn.

Questions and concerns about campus construction may be left on the construction information line at (717) 531-0003, ext. 283000. For more information about construction projects on campus, visit http://www.pennstatehersheyconstruction.com online.
