Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and GE Healthcare, a unit of General Electric Co., is partnering to raise awareness on women's health issues with the national mobile tour "GE Women's Health and Wellness Tour." The event is designed to educate women about their own health and wellness. It will hit the mid-state in early September: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 9 and 10. The public may tour the custom-designed mobile event located in the parking lot of Penn State University Physician Group, Cherry Drive, Hershey.

The GE Women's Health and Wellness Tour was launched in October 2004 in conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Contained within a custom-designed, 53-foot vehicle, the tour is fully equipped with the latest clinical technology to offer breast cancer, cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis and other health education for women.

Attendees will have the opportunity to tour the vehicle's Breast, Bone and Heart Suites, learn about the benefits of digital mammography and have access to health screenings that can quickly identify patients with risk factors for heart disease, enabling physicians to focus on getting patients on the right treatment sooner and making sure they stay on the right therapeutic mix.
