Biometric screenings end Dec. 15

December 18, 2006

Friday, Dec. 15, is the last day for Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center employees and their spouses or domestic partners to participate in voluntary biometric screenings. The session is scheduled from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at University Physician Group-Palmyra.

The "Know Your Numbers" campaign aims to increase awareness of personal health information such as cholesterol, glucose levels, body-mass index and blood pressure.

Participation in the screenings and the Health Compass questionnaire earns employees health reimbursement account (HRA) rewards. The questionnaire is located on the employee self-service page of the Infonet. Screenings and questionnaires must be completed by Dec. 15 for dollars to deposit into HRAs by Jan. 1.

Employees also may submit lab results taken within the last six months instead of being screened. Results must include formal proof of height, weight, waist circumference, blood pressure, total cholesterol, HDL and glucose on physician letterhead. Employees should also include their Lawson ID number, name and date of birth. Results should be faxed to (717) 531-0268 or mailed to human resources at mail code A590, attention Jane Quenzer.
