Jeff Schmidt, director of the Pennsylvania Sierra Club, will present a talk at 7 p.m. Jan. 25, in 112 Kern Building, University Park. The talk, "Action on Global Warming: Making a Difference," is free to the public. Schmidt, hired by the Sierra Club in 1983 after volunteering and serving as vice chair of the state organization, is the first full-time environmental lobbyist in Pennsylvania. He is an alumnus of Penn State. The event is co-sponsored by the Penn State Sustainability Coalition, the Penn State Center for Sustainability and the Moshannon Group Sierra Club.
