Graduate symposium to explore how communities manage knowledge

University Park, Pa. -- The Second Interdisciplinary Graduate Symposium: Communities Managing Knowledge, hosted by the College of Information Sciences and Technology (IST), will explore that challenge Friday, Feb. 23, in 206 IST Building, University Park. Featuring keynote speakers and panelists, the all-day symposium will address diverse topics including organizational policies on information sharing, virtual teams, the impacts of knowledge-management technologies on communities and learning in communities.

Graduate students engaged in interdisciplinary research from across University Park are invited to participate in the symposium by submitting position statements on those or related topics by Jan. 26. Submission isn't required for attendance, and faculty members also are welcome. The event is free and includes lunch. The symposium is being organized by the GIST, the IST graduate student association.
