Synergy student talent show to hold auditions Feb. 7

University Park, Pa. -- Synergy, the Penn State student talent show, will hold auditions 6 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 7 at Schwab Auditorium. Students selected during auditions will perform in the Feb. 24 Synergy show, competing for $2,000 in cash prizes.

All registered Penn State students are eligible to audition for Synergy. In recent years, students have played piano, sang gospel music and Broadway show tunes, belly danced, juggled and more. Students can audition solo or with a group.

The Synergy talent show will begin at 7:30 p.m., Feb. 24 in Schwab Auditorium. Synergy contestants will vie for $2,000 in cash prizes: grand prize $800, first place $550, second place $350, third place $200, and the rising star award $100. The panel of judges for the contest will include Penn State President Graham Spanier and State College Mayor William Welch.

Synergy tickets can be purchased at the Eisenhower Auditorium box office, at the door the evening of the show, or at http://www.cpa.psu.edu online. Tickets are $4.95 for students and adults, and $4 for children.

Synergy is presented by the Penn State Thespians and sponsored by the Penn State Alumni Association with the assistance of the Office of Unions and Student Activities.
