Architectural engineering's Srebric receives distinguished service award

Jelena Srebric, associate professor of architectural engineering, won the Distinguished Service Award presented by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). The award recognizes individuals who have served ASHRAE with distinction on committees and freely give their time and talent on the society's behalf. She will receive the award at the group's annual meeting in in June in Long Beach, Calif. Srebric's research focuses on the detailed study of thermal comfort, indoor air quality and energy consumption in buildings using computational fluid dynamics and hourly energy analysis programs. A faculty member since 2000, she received her bachelor of science and master of science in mechanical engineering from the University of Belgrade in Serbia, and her doctoral degree in building technology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
