American history resources displayed

The Arts and Humanities Library is currently featuring through August, three endowments in the display area at the top of the grand stairwell in central Pattee Library, with the focus on American history. The first is the Lippincott Family Memorial Libraries Endowment in Memory of Carolyn Lippincott and James Lippincott. This endowment supports the purchase of books and other library materials in American history, with a focus on the Revolutionary and Civil Wars. Also featured is the Warren W. Hassler Civil War Era Libraries Collections Endowment, which was established to complement a graduate fellowship in the College of the Liberal Arts. This endowment supports the purchase of books and other materials related to the study of the Civil War. Purchases reflect important trends in the discipline, with a special emphasis on acquiring a variety of books, ongoing subscriptions, microfilm and computer-based formats of use to students from all colleges. Finally, items supported by the Class of 1935 Libraries Endowment also are on display. This endowment supports the purchase of books and other materials in the arts and humanities.
