'Out of Line' takes look at chorus guys and gals

Pennsylvania Centre Stage will present "Out of Line," a musical that picks up where a "A Chorus Line" left off, July 24 through Aug. 11, in the Penn State Downtown Theatre Center. For tickets and curtain times, call (814) 863-0255. This musical, conceived by Julio Agustin Matos Jr., provides a humorous and compelling look at the lives of successful Broadway performers who fight to get out of the chorus. Matos, a Penn State alumnus, wove his play together from cast and student interviews with Broadway "gypsies." John Franceschina, a former Penn State faculty member, created the music and lyrics for the production. In addition to directing, Matos is the choreographer and plays Scott in the cast. The entire cast of professional actors are members of the Actors' Equity Association. All have Broadway experience. The production was recently the subject in an article in Playbill.
