Staff Advisory Council seeks applications/nominations

The Staff Advisory Council is accepting applications and nominations for both appointed and volunteer positions.

Created in 1995, the Staff Advisory Council is a forum for exchanging ideas about the welfare and development of staff employees. Members explore University policies and procedures that affect staff employees and make suggestions to the Central Administration through the associate vice president for Human Resources. Most recently, the council recommended supervisory skills, diversity and professionalism training; as well as SRDP improvements. Council members meet annually with President Graham Spanier and attend human resources benefits and policy presentations. The council also sponsors the Staff Recognition and Appreciation Program, which honors staff members for going above and beyond their normal routines in resolving challenges.

Appointed members have voting responsibilities and serve three-year terms that begin July 1. Volunteers serve one-year terms and do not have voting privileges but are welcome to join committees and attend meetings. Council meetings typically occur during normal University hours and are considered University business.

The application/nomination form and additional information may be obtained at http://www.ohr.psu.edu/sac/, on the “Get Involved” link. Self nominations are accepted.

The application/nomination deadline is April 25.
