WPSU's public affairs program getting a makeover

'Pennsylvania Inside Out' to take summer hiatus

University Park, Pa. — WPSU's public affairs program, "Pennsylvania Inside Out," ended its run as a nightly program on Friday, May 30, the show's executive producer David Price announced on June 2.

"Pennsylvania Inside Out" will re-launch in October of this year as a weekly series with a new look and mission.

"We're happy with what we've accomplished with 'Pennsylvania Inside Out,' but since its inception in 2004, there's been consensus among our producers that we wanted to give our subject matter deeper, intensely focused coverage," Price said. "By reformatting the program, we will be able to give more comprehensive, thought-provoking coverage to complex issues."

To that end, each weekly "Pennsylvania Inside Out" will concentrate on one topic of significant relevance to WPSU's coverage area.

"This will give WPSU-TV an excellent venue to illuminate more aspects of challenging issues for our viewers," added Price.

The target launch date and time for the new "Pennsylvania Inside Out" is expected to be in early  October.

"Weather World," which airs after "Pennsylvania Inside Out," will remain on WPSU-TV at the same 5:55 p.m. time slot. Starting on June 2, "The Saddle Club," a show about young girls in the equestrian world, will air at 5:30 p.m. on weekdays, followed by "Weather World."
