'Into The Woods' musical will be held July 25, 26 and Aug. 1, 2

The Center Theatre Players' production of "Into the Woods," Stephen Sondheim's Tony Award-winning musical, will be presented at 7:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday, July 25 and 26, and 7:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday, Aug. 1 and 2, in the auditorium of the Penn State Beaver Student Union Building. The musical, which is part of the Brodhead Cultural Center's 32nd summer programming series, is directed by Sandy Reigel, Monaca, who also is the director of the Center Theatre Players.

Tickets are $13 for all ages and can be obtained by contacting the Brodhead Cultural Center at (724) 773-3610 or by sending e-mail to the Cultural Center at rxm70@psu.edu. Tickets also will be sold in the auditorium lobby beginning at 6 p.m. each night of the show. Audience members will be permitted to enter the theatre for general seating at 6:45 p.m. There is no reserved seating for any performance.

"Into the Woods" blends fairy tales with the story of a childless baker and his wife who must lift a witch's curse in order to have a child. Fairy tale characters and their stories are woven into the musical,  including Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, Rapunzel, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty.

The 2008 Brodhead Cultural Center series is co-sponsored by the Beaver County Times, ARA Corp., The Idea Works and the Beaver Valley Musicians Union Trust Fund.
