Badfish, the Delaneys will present free fall concert on campus

August 22, 2008

The Delaneys, one of western Pennsylvania's preeminent rock bands, will open a free concert featuring nationally recognized rock group, Badfish, on Thursday night, Sept. 4, at the Penn State Beaver Brodhead Cultural Center. The event is Beaver's Fourth Annual Free Fall Concert. Performance times will be announced soon.

Badfish is known for its tribute to Sublime, a uniquely eclectic band from the 1990s that ended with the death of lead singer and songwriter Brad Nowell in 1996. Badfish is recognized for replicating Sublime's essence. The band was formed in 2001 and consistently sells out shows at prominent venues across the country, including House of Blues in Chicago, Las Vegas and Atlantic City; Revolution in Fort Lauderdale, and Avalon in Boston.

The Delaneys have released three albums in the last six year and have performed at numerous venues, including the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Pavilion, the Hard Rock Cafe, the Chevy Ampitheater, Club Diesel on the South Side, Club Cafe and PNC Park. College tours have included performances at the University of Pittsburgh West Virginia University, Indiana University of Pennsylvania and Penn State University Park. The group has shared the stage with The Clarks, the Gin Blossoms and Donnie Iris. It has opened for Sheryl Crow, Hootie and the Blowfish, Motley Crue and Breaking Benjamin.

Brad Meredith, the Delaneys bass player, also co-founded Ask Your Mom Productions which presents the Annual Rockin' the Suburbs Beaver County Music Festival.
