Storr selected for Commission for Women Executive Committee

Juliette Storr, assistant professor of communications at Penn State Beaver, was selected to serve on the 2008-2009 Executive Committee of the Penn State Commission for Women.

The Commission for Women identifies areas of concern for the University'’s female employees and students and provides a forum for exchanging ideas that can translate into improved practices to support women at the University. Its membership represents every employment category, i.e. faculty, exempt and non-exempt staff, technical service, and administrative as well as graduate and undergraduate students. Penn State President Graham B. Spanier appoints commission members as an advisory group to recommend policies and programs to enhance the University's working and learning environments.

Before coming to Penn State, Storr served as assistant professor in the Department of Communication at North Carolina State University. She also worked as a copywriter in Detroit and a television journalist in Nassau. She holds a doctorate in mass communication and a certification in contemporary history from Ohio University, a master's degree in radio/television/film production from Wayne State University, and a bachelor's degree in mass communication from the University of Windsor, Canada.
